Training
Is Our Number One Priority...
PAP
desires to hire a diverse workforce which is both highly qualified and
motivated. To accomplish this goal, PAP utilizes the following hiring
and rehiring process:
1) Verbal verification of qualifications and experience.
2) Written employment
application completed by applicant.
3) Employment background
information verified by staff including current
licensing.
4)
Criminal background check
conducted.
5) Operations manager,
or senior supervisor conducts interview with applicant.
6) Drug and Alcohol testing
conducted. Also any
necessary medical screening.
7) All favorable results,
position offered to applicant.
TRAINING
PAP
officers receive the following pre-deployment, deployment and postdeploy-
ment
training. All officers must successfully complete
training prior to being assigned to a security post. Officers
additionally must complete mandatory monthly on-going training while in
the field to insure that they are knowledgeable concerning the clients
ongoing needs. Officers are not assigned to protect a client’s
property who are not competent and capable to perform the required
tasks.
Pre-Deployment:
a. Review state approved Level I and Level II security guard
courses. Testing on
each course.
b.
Review and acknowledge
receipt of PAP Company Policies and Procedures
including drug/alcohol
policies, conduct in the workplace, and antidiscrimina-
tion and harassment policy.
Deployment:
a.
All officers receive a post orientation from the PAP Operations
Manager or his
designated representative.
b. Officers must complete a post-specific training course. The
training is
conducted by the Operations Manager, Site Manager or a
Senior Supervisor.
Post-Deployment:
a.
All shift supervisors are required to conduct weekly mandatory briefing/training
sessions concerning on-going
concerns of the client. Client input and/or
attendance is strongly
encouraged.
b. All officers are
also required to attend mandatory monthly briefing/training
sessions
concerning specific guard duties, and on-going concerns. These
training sessions are conducted by the Operations Manager
and Senior
Supervisors.
c. Each officer is
also required to review the PAP company policy manual which
includes the
following:

Care of Uniforms
and Equipment

Grounds for
Dismissal of Contract Guards

Record Keeping and Reporting
-
Using Firearms and Other Equipment

Fixed Posts and Patrols
-
Emergency
Calls
-
Answering
Calls
